New Forest Runner, Steve Wright won the Sway Carnival 5 in a time of 29.52. His nearest rivals were unattached runners Russell Hodge (30.08) who finished second and Chris Wingham (30.19) was third.
Becky Hollowbread made it a double celebration for New Forest Runners by winning the ladies race with a time of (35.08). Kirsty Shannon of Hants Police was second (37.11) and Gail Walters (unattached) was third in a time of 38.55.
Nearly 300 runners entered the race – which is first in the Runningtree Series 2011 sponsored by Royal Canin.
Running in the beautiful New Forest, the competitors enjoyed the near perfect weather – just a little too warm to run in!

Runningtree Series Sponsored by

This race is part of a series which includes Everton 10K, Hoburne 5, Milford 5 and the Christmas 10K. A trophy will be awarded to the best male and female performers over the series. One point will be awarded per placing (1 point for first place, 2 for second etc.) The winners will be the ones with the least number of points accumilated. We will publish a league table regularly so that runners can see where they stand.
