Newbery imposes his Will at Milford 5!


Triathlete, Will Newbery held off a late challenge from New Forest Runner Steve Wright to win the Milford 5. Will's winning time was 27.50 with Steve's time 27.59.
Up and coming runner, David Long beat his father Roy to take third place(29.06). Roy Long was 1st Vet Male 40 with a time of 29.26. He kept up his grip on the Runningtree Series with his rival, Chris Wingham just 5 seconds behind (29.31)!
In 6th place and 2nd Vet Male 40 was Alan Chiverton of Westbourne R.C. (29.35).

Valeria Sesto of New Forest Runners won the ladies race in 30.44 with fellow club member Fiona Lynskey 2nd (34.24) and Fiona Peebles 3rd (38.02). Another New Forest Runner, Di Buckley was 1st Vet Female 40 (38.22) with Sandra Hewson (Westbourne R C) 2nd in this category (39.19).

Henry Szwinto - New Forest Runners was 1st Vet Male 50 (30.45) with Poole Runners David Cartwright 1st Vet Male 60 (31.45).
Noreen Henderson was 1st Vet Female 50 (38.47), Jackie Jenkins was 1st Vet Female 60 (42.01) and Rhona Goodwin 1st Vet Female 70 (45.38) - all New Forest Runners!
Hardley Runners - Andrew Kellaway was 10th (30.36), Brendan Anglim was 19th (31.55) and Rob Kendall was 24th (32.39). Tara Anglim was their leading lady with a time of 49.11.

This race is part of a series which includes Everton 10K, Sway 5, Milford 5 and the Christmas 10K. A trophy will be awarded to the best male and female performers over the series. One point will be awarded per placing (1 point for first place, 2 for second etc.) The winners will be the ones with the least number of points accumilated. We will publish a league table regularly so that runners can see where they stand.
