King Reigns at Milford 5 - But Sun Shines!Matthew King followed up his recent win at the Everton 10K with a victory over Poole Runner Lee Rodgriuez. Matthew's winning time was 26.45 and Lee's time was 27.24.Becky Hollowbread was the first lady (34.25) with fellow New Forest Runner, Caroline Pemberton second lady overall and first Vet. Female 40 to finish in a time of 35.21. Jacqueline Smith of Reading Road Runners was third and second Vet. Female 40 in a time of 35.39. Jenny Simmonds New Forest Runners was the second senior lady and fourth lady to finish (36.56). Mike Davies of Winchester and Dist. A.C. lead the Vet. Male 40 category in 29.35 with Scott Auger, Southampton R.C. second (29.38). Jud Kirk (Beds and County) won the Vet. Male 50 category in 30.53 with Rhys Henderson of New Forest Runners second (32.19). Another of the Henderson household - Noreen this time, New Forest Runners was first Vet. Ladies 50 in a time of 38.05 and second was Gail Cavell, unattached (40.49). Yet another New Forest Runner, John Hunt won the Vet. Male 60 category in a time of 32.39 and Victor Blow (Votow.co.uk) second (35.36). First Vet Ladies 60 was Shirley Strang (unattached) in a time of 44.21.
The weather was perfect for the race but a little windy on the seafront at the
start! The runners were well supported by the public around the course.
This was Race 4 in the Runningtree Series with the Christmas 10K at Burton
completing the series on Sunday 13th December. We regret that the entry for
this race is already full.

Lee sets the pace - again!Lee Rodriguez knocked nearly two minutes off his last year's time to win the Milford 5 recording an impressive time of 25.45. The Poole Runner still has some work to do however, to beat the course record of 24.29 set by him in 2002! Fellow Poole Runner, George Miller was second in 26.15.
In third and first Male Vet 40 was Michael Twomey of Southampton A.C. with a
time of 26.47 with Watford Harriers' Julian Critchlow, fourth and second Male
Vet 40 finishing in 26.53.
Another visitor from Watford Harriers, Agniescica Pieczka was the first lady
with a time of 34.07. Fellow New Forest Runners' Lucy Edwards was second
(34.30) and Beccy Hollowbread third (34.37).
Jud Kirk (30.13) was the 1st Male Vet 50 with John Simmonds of Hardley Runners
2nd (30.45).
New Forest Runners dominated the Vet 60's with John Hunt recording a very impressive 32.25 and Maggie Kirk (40.34). Another Watford Harrier, Colin Hamlet was second Male Vet 60 (36.58) and Rhona Goodwin, New Forest Runners' was second Female Vet 60 (43.11). New Forest Runners' Octogenarians' Bruce Davidson recorded 60.40 and Kieran Holland 63.11.
