Hotfoot Branfoot Wins 10th Anniversary Everton 10K!


With the newly laid road surface barely cool on parts of the course, Harrows' David Branfoot won the 10th Anniversary Everton 10k with an impressive time of 33.39. Stephen Earley of Bedford and Co. was second and 1st Vet.Male 40 (34.25). Triathlete, Will Newbery of Primera TB VK was third and 2nd Senior Male (34.29).
Wessex Road Runner, Bob Bentley was 2nd Vet. Male 40 (35.13).

New Forest Runner, Erica Fogg won the ladies race in a time of 36.40 beating club mate, Valeria Sesto by just 7 seconds (36.47). Janie Chapman was 1st Vet lady 40 (40.40) and Julie Goulding 2nd (47.38).

Brian Gardner of Swindon Harriers was1st Vet Male 50 (37.04) and New Forest Runner, Henry Szwinto was 2nd (37.23). Jenny Brown from Ashford (Kent) won the Vet lady 50 category (44.50) with Virginia Collins 2nd (46.40).
Poole Runners' David Cartwright was the Vet Male 60 winner and 27th overall (39.00). Jackie Jenkins was 1st Vet lady 60 (52.30).
Hardley Runners' Geoff Mills was 1st Vet Male 70 (65.24) with Rhona Goodwin of the New Forest Runners 1st Vet lady 70, (57.37).

Bruce Davison of New Forest Runners recently turned 90 and completed the race in just under 90 mins. He was presented with a glass engraved trophy to mark the fact that he is still running. He is an inspiration to us all!

Lynda Wheeler and Andy Phimister were both presented with trophies for having completed all ten races.
A cheque for £2000 was presented to Lucie Lewis for Naomi House Childrens' Hospice and a cheque for £400 to Les Wigmore Everton Youth Football Club.
The trophies and cheques were presented by Sean Willson of Everton Hyundai on behalf of the organisers.

Runningtree Series Sponsored by

This race is part of a series which includes Sway 5, Hoburne 5, Milford 5 and the Christmas 10K. A trophy will be awarded to the best male and female performers over the series. One point will be awarded per placing (1 point for first place, 2 for second etc.) The winners will be the ones with the least number of points accumilated. We will publish a league table regularly so that runners can see where they stand.
