Jon Sharkey of Bournemouth AC could only follow the dust cloud to finish second with a time of 35.09. Local runner, Kathy Bailey, Winchester and Dist. AC was the first lady and 5th overall finisher. A further cheque for £750 was presented to Alan Baybutt of Keyhaven Sea Scouts from the proceeds of the 2005 Milford and Keyhaven 5 Race. They hope to purchase two new canoes with the money. The delay in handing over last years donations was due to a sponsor reneging on their promise. Needless to say their name is not connected with this years races! To herald the presentation, the Red Arrows Display Team flew past - but this was by chance, not arrangement! Please click on the link below for a full list of results:-

Chis Olden was the overall winner again this year but he was pushed harder by James Baker of Chichester Running Club who stayed with Chris for the first 7 K. This must have spurred Chris on as he was nearly 2 mins faster than last year. Kaye Harwood again defended her crown successfully, finishing in 38.18.
The was 143 entrants and 125 finishers - which included a number of Ron
Goodwin's New Forest Runners novices. Well done to them and we hope that they
will go on to enter more races in the future.

Chris OLDEN won the Everton 10K for the third year running with a time of
34.14. For the ladies, Kaye HARWOOD of
Lordswood Runners was again the first lady with a time of 37.49. Both kept
their course records. There were 145 entrants and
127 runners actually completed the race - the same number as last year. It was
again a very warm day for the runners.
It was the first race for the New Forest Runners novice group for 2003 and Darren PRICE was the first novice home in a time of 50.51. Well done to Darren and all the other novices and we hope you will all be doing the race again next year!
A late entrant made a mistake in filling in his entry form by putting his year
of birth down as "03." This was fed into the computer which read it as 1903 and
we had a very respectable time of 38 minutes - for a 100 year old!
